The uninitiated always seem a little skeptical at first when we tell them how great our lather is – or that our small but mighty (TSA-friendly) 3 oz. tube will last up to 100 shaves. Here we put it to the test.

Flowers, chocolates, making mom breakfast…all great gifts for Mother’s Day — and you’ve probably done them all more than once.
This year you are going to change that! You are going to give her a gift that she will use every day. You are going to make her legs crazy smooth and supple. You are going to make her feel younger and more vibrant. (You are going to make your dad happy too.) Here’s how:
Pacific Shaving Company now offers its award-winning safe, natural and eco-friendly shaving products specifically formulated for women. Our Three Step Shaving System starts with a Bamboo Exfoliating Scrub that can be used all over the body to exfoliate, clean, and moisturize. Great before shaving *or waxing*.
The next step uses our All Natural Shaving Cream. A low-lather, premium shaving cream made entirely with organic, natural and safe ingredients. (She will never go back to the toxic Skintimate or Satin Care again.)
The third — and perhaps most important — step, is our Post-Shave Moisturizer. Don’t let the name fool you though; it’s perfect for everyday use. With a potent blend of ingredients like shea butter, Argan oil, Abyssinian oil, and lavender, this moisturizer’s got her covered all day.
A quick note on Abyssinian oil: this exotic ingredient nourishes skin while reducing wrinkles by infusing the skin with crucial triglycerides—the main component in the body’s natural skin oil. It is also very light, and non-greasy, all while being fully biodegradable and eco-friendly like all of our products.
All products come in our unique concentrated formulas and come in a 3 oz. size that even the TSA can’t complain about!
A Mother’s Day gift from Pacific Shaving Company will get you thanked in May, but also in June, July, and the months to follow. Step out of the box this Mother’s Day, your mom will be glad you did.

Say what you want about Walmart, but its plan “to hire every veteran who wants a job, provided that the veterans have left the military in the previous year and did not receive a dishonorable discharge” is unbelievable.
I have to say, I’m not quite sure how they can do this though. Company officials said they believe the program, which will officially begin on Memorial Day—May 27 this year—will lead to the hiring of more than 100,000 people in the next five years, the length of the commitment. It seems inevitable that they are going to come up against over-staffing at certain locations. Then what happens? Do the more tenured, non-veteran employees get the axe? It will be interesting to see if there are any unintended, negative consequences down the road. I hope not, because this is really impressive.
It would be really cool if another big companylike this announced they are going to broaden their hiring and employ anyone who’s been unemployed for more than a year. That would be even cooler.
PS: Wal-Mart’s foundation has consistently been among the most generous contributors to veterans’ charities, committing to donate $20 million to veterans’ causes by 2015. Good stuff, Walmart.

A posse of spooky spiders and a gaggle of warty witches have been calling my living room window home for over a month now. My four year old broke out the decorations as soon as it was officially autumn, and in an interesting interior decorating move, decided to embellish just one window with the festive decals. This is one creepy window.
He’s also tested out his candy satchel by filling it with toys and walking briskly around our apartment (it works), given his skeleton costume a test drive (it, too, works) and covered our front door with abstract sketches of vampires, mummies and Frankenstein. This kid is ready for Halloween.
I, meanwhile, have been reveling in his four-year-oldness. A successful Halloween for W. means eating two pieces of candy in a row and counting the Iron Man costumes sported by his fellow preschoolers. I don’t have to worry about him slicing his tongue on a chocolate bar tainted by a razor blade or chomping into a poisoned apple. All treats will be mama-approved, of course. I also don’t have to worry about him roaming dark streets alone, knocking on strangers doors or masterminding disturbing pranks with his friends. Yet.
Yes, W’s innocent take on Halloween means no toilet paper wrapped around tress — do teenagers still do this? — and no shaving cream fights. He’d be hard-pressed to gear up for a shaving cream battle with the supplies in my bathroom, anyway. I’m stocked with nothing but tubes of low lather cream, the good stuff, where a little goes a long way. We’d both be sorry if he armed himself with my shaving cream.
Wishing you a satisfying All Hallow’s Eve. However — and with whomever — you choose to celebrate it. Just keep your toilet paper away from my trees.

No, this is not the marshmallow of S’mores and Rice Krispie treats (though the fluffy white sweets were once made from the sap of the marshmallow plant root).
This is the marshmallow of your next level shaving experience.
The best way to understand the properties of the herb marshmallow root is to take a closer look at its official genus name: althaea officinalis. Althea means “to heal” in Greek. That really says it all.
This soothing herb is often used in skin care products to calm inflammation and is particularly healing for skin prone to acne, sunburn or dryness. Marshmallow root is specifically prized for its mucilaginous quality. Mucilage is naturally occurring thick, gluey stuff that is ideal for soothing and healing skin of all types.
Marshmallow root is a key ingredient in our All Natural Shaving Cream. Check it out. Start the healing.

Treatment protocol for jellyfish stings by Dr. Paul Auerbach, an emergency physician at Stanford Hospital and author of medical textbook on wilderness medicine:
If you are stung by a jellyfish, rinse the wound with seawater; do not use fresh water, as this may increase envenomation by stimulating more nemocysts, the jelly’s stinging cells, which become embedded in the skin. Remove any attached tentacles with forceps or a gloved hand. Apply a soak-compress of vinegar or isopropyl rubbing alcohol to the wound for about 30 minutes or until the pain subsides.
Then apply a lather of shaving cream and shave the affected area with a safety razor to remove any remaining nematocysts. If the stinging sensation persists, reapply the vinegar or rubbing alcohol for another 15 minutes.
Auerbach also advised being prepared for a possible allergic reaction. Symptoms may include difficuty breathing, difficulty swallowing, hives, a swollen tongue or collapse. In such cases, call 911 and use an epinephrine auto-injector, such as an EpiPen, if available.

Let’s face it.The shaving aisle in your typical drug or grocery store has grown tired.
Close your eyes and picture it: 10 rows each of Barbasol, Gillette Foamy, ‘Store Brand’ on the bottom, then a couple full shelves all Edge and Fusion. It’s like all other sections of the store evolved over time, leaving shaving stuck in the 70’s and 80’s.
Since that doesn’t stop people from needing to shave, long-established brands continue to focus their marketing on the razors and blades; Innovation in the form of ‘high performance’ (and increasingly expensive) shaving systems – despite an evolving market.
Since 2003, Pacific Shaving has been quietly making noise with natural and eco-friendly shaving essentials that are aligned with the cultural shift, consumer motivation and macro trends that the leading brands are not delivering on:
- Affordable, high quality, natural and safe ingredients
- Eco-friendly business practices
So you can imagine how excited we are to add this to our growing list of accomplishments:
Solar-powered shaving products.
That’s right. Our longtime manufacturing facility has just completed a huge investment in solar and green technology with the installation of 100,000 watts of solar energy. The result? Maximized energy efficiency, minimal waste, reduced climate-damaging emissions and an overall positive effect on the environment. All packed into that small but mighty Pacific Shaving product.
Solar powered shaving products? That’s right. Coming soon to stores everywhere.
Move over Barbasol.
PS: Don’t tell the ‘establishment’, but the truth is that it’s not that hard. Domestic sourcing & manufacturing. Minimal packaging. Sustainable packaging practices. It takes just as much effort to choose these options as to elect not to, so why not choose the former? To run a business and take it personally (as I do), why wouldn’t you do these things?

One of the most interesting parts of running a personal care products company is speaking with customers and learning about their standard primping routine, especially when it comes to shaving. The advice I receive often varies—and even contradicts at times. But one thing is clear: there is no shortage of it. It seems that when it comes to shaving, everyone has at least one great tip or ‘lesson-learned’ to share.
So a few years ago, we set out to compile a world-class list (for shavers, by shavers) of how, when, where or with what to shave. We reached out online and the response was overwhelming. We received hundreds of responses from men and women and after months of reviewing and editing, we’ve narrowed it down (sort of) to this pdf guide: 125 Tips for a Better Shave.
As you’ll see, standard tenets of shaving came through (“try to shave in or after the shower”), while others contradicted (“Shave against the grain for a closer shave”; “Never shave against the grain”). Still others, while odd, seemed to just make good, common sense (“never in a moving car.”)
For some it’s a chore. For others, it’s an enjoyable morning routine. Wherever you fall on that spectrum, you’re sure to find at least one practical gem in this report. After all, here at Pacific Shaving Company, we’re all about practical. We don’t believe that anyone really needs high-tech shaving systems. We promote practical products, simple packaging and quality ingredients that get the job done—and even make the process enjoyable.

Need milk? Bread? Eggs? Shaving cream?
That sweet spot where groceries meet the best in shaving products can now be found at ShopRite — the grocery emporium that’s been around since 1951.
We invite you to take care of your shaving needs while stocking up on dinner supplies. It’s never been so easy.

There are many things that I love about our All Natural Shaving Cream. It’s thick; its lather is low and a little goes a long, long way.
And then there’s the white tea.
I love the white tea. In addition to stellar ingredients like organic sunflower seed oil and organic shea butter, All Natural Shaving Cream includes a good dose of skin-protecting white tea.
White tea contains powerful antioxidants, which helps fight damage to skin due to stress and age.
Not a bad addition to the daily shave!
